    Lounge Ratings

    Comfort & Ambiance7.0

The 105-seat room has airfield-facing windows, dining tables, lounge chairs and bar stools. Seating can become scarce at departure peaks.

    Food & Beverage7.0

The buffet offers hot and cold dishes, while the staffed bar serves wine, champagne and spirits. Replenishment can lag during unusually busy periods.

    Amenities & Facilities7.2

A shower suite and six small lockers provide useful preflight facilities. The shower shares an accessible restroom, so availability is limited.

    Cleanliness7.0

Restrooms were clean during a crowded period. Evidence about longer-term upkeep remains limited.

    Editorial Review

The Air France Lounge at Chicago O’Hare is an Air France-branded space in Terminal 5 near Gate M17. It serves eligible Air France and KLM premium-cabin and frequent-flyer passengers, as well as qualifying SkyTeam travelers. Priority Pass members may enter outside a midday exclusion window, subject to capacity controls.

The 470-square-meter room has seating for 105 guests. Large windows face the airfield, while dining tables, lounge chairs and bar stools offer different places to sit. The buffet and bar occupy opposite sides of a single main room. The relatively compact space can become crowded around departures, and seat availability can change as flights board.

A self-service counter offers hot and cold dishes. The menu changes through the day rather than following a fixed selection. Examples from a recent service included quiche, soup, sliced meats and a chicken dish; these are not guaranteed daily choices. The staffed bar offers champagne, French wines and spirits; coffee, tea, soft drinks and water are available separately. Dining is buffet-based rather than à la carte. At busy periods, food and tableware may need replenishment before every visitor can be served.

A shower suite, restrooms and six small lockers cover several practical needs. The shower shares an accessible restroom, so use depends on availability. The combination of runway views and a shower distinguishes the lounge from a basic contract waiting room, although it does not offer the scale of a flagship lounge. Crowding eased quickly after departures during a particularly busy visit, while the restrooms remained clean. It is best suited to Terminal 5 passengers looking for a meal, a drink or a place to sit before departure.
