The redesigned Level 7 lounge separates dining, relaxation and work uses across the Atrium, Alcove, Bureau and Retreat rather than relying on a single general seating room.
The Dining Room provides table service spanning Hong Kong, regional Chinese and international dishes, while the Atrium and Pantry add breakfast, afternoon tea, lighter bites and ready-to-eat hot food.
The Retreat has seven treatment booths, and the lounge has shower suites with selectable shower modes and lighting settings. Cathay also identifies dedicated spaces for light work.
The redesigned lounge and dedicated shower suites support a high cleanliness score, although independent post-reopening reporting is still limited.
Cathay Pacific’s The Wing, First is its first-class lounge at Hong Kong International Airport’s Terminal 1, on Level 7 near Gates 1–4. It reopened in a redesigned form and, during its initial reopening period, Cathay says access is for its First Class passengers and Cathay Diamond members; eligible oneworld Emerald members are temporarily directed to The Pier, First or other Cathay and oneworld lounges.
The large lounge is organised around the Atrium, an open-ceiling all-day space serving breakfast and afternoon tea before shifting to a bistro-style menu later in the day. The Pantry adds self-service cold cuts, cheese, pastries, cakes and ready-to-eat hot dishes. For a more substantial meal, the Dining Room provides table service with Hong Kong, regional Chinese and international dishes, including signature noodles, steakhouse items and selected Mott 32 collaborations. The lounge also has a comprehensive beverage offering and speciality cocktails.
Facilities go beyond the standard first-class lounge formula. The Retreat has seven treatment booths for calming treatments, while shower suites offer selectable shower modes and lighting settings. Cathay also identifies the Alcove for light work and the Bureau as additional work-oriented space. These distinct dining, quiet and practical-use zones give it stronger flexibility than a conventional single-room lounge.
The current official details show opening from 05:30 until the last Cathay Pacific departure between 00:30 and 03:20. With a full-service restaurant, multiple food formats, wellness treatments and shower suites, The Wing, First belongs in the world-class tier. The score is set slightly below HKG’s The Pier, First benchmark until more independent post-reopening traveler reporting is available.
