    Editorial Review

The United Polaris Lounge at Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) in Terminal C is a premium business class lounge operated by United Airlines, catering to eligible long-haul international travelers. It is located airside between Gates C102 and C120.

Spanning approximately 27,000 to over 30,000 square feet, the lounge features a modern, functional design with multiple distinct seating zones. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide tarmac views, though the ambiance can feel corporate. While the lounge is spacious, it can experience significant crowding during peak evening hours, particularly before transatlantic departures, which may impact the quiet enjoyment of the facilities.

Dining options include a comprehensive hot and cold buffet and a dedicated a la carte dining room offering restaurant-quality entrees, such as pan-seared Arctic char or duck breast, alongside a signature warm chocolate chip cookie skillet dessert. The full-service bar provides signature cocktails and premium spirits, complemented by barista-made Illy espresso. Amenities include luxurious shower suites equipped with heated floors and premium toiletries, as well as several quiet rooms featuring comfortable loungers, dimmable lighting, and Saks Fifth Avenue pillows for rest. Private phone booths and work cubicles with charging ports are available throughout the lounge, and fast Wi-Fi is provided.

Access is highly restricted to passengers flying United Polaris business class on long-haul international itineraries (including certain premium transcontinental flights and connections) and, as of April 14, 2026, select Star Alliance partner first and business class passengers on specified airlines only (All Nippon Airways, Lufthansa, Swiss, Air New Zealand, Austrian, Brussels Airlines, ITA Airways). Other Star Alliance carriers no longer grant access. The lounge is intended for long-haul international business and first class travelers seeking an elevated pre-flight experience.
